I think it is interesting so many high scores are recent. One reason I think is hitters are not worried about striking out as much as they used to be. A great hitter like Rod Carew might not have much value in todays game because he had little power
And would probably never happen againt with pitch counts and pitcher management playing the role it does lol With no no-hitter and/or perfect game to defend there'd be no impetus for a manager to keep his (ROOKIE?!) pitcher on the mound that late into a game. Sad.
I am a lifelong Cubs fan. I remember that day like it was yesterday. The moment, only surpassed by the hope it brought! I watched the first 7 innings at home and the last couple with my neighbor when he got home from work(only to find out some friends had a ticket go unused). The crowd was sparse on that cool rainy day but there are probably a million who say they were there. What a game!
Hmmm. I think that this scale places way too much emphasis on Ks.
But, that’s just one guy’s opinion!
Surprised that Pedro’s 1 hit, 17K gem at Yankee Stadium isn’t on this list.
Game Score 98 for that one

He had a career .393 obp. At least 8 seasons with obp over .400. He definitely would be value
